Arup Samanta is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Centre of Nanotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. His present research interests include Single Electron Transistors, Dopant Atom Transistors, Single Electron Metrology, Quantum Computing, Spintronic Devices, THz Detectors, Single Photon Detectors, Silicon Photovoltaics, and Nanobiotechnology.
He received Ph.D. in silicon nanotechnology in 2012 from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), University of Calcutta, India. Thereafter, he spent four years in Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Japan as a Research Associate. In 2016, He joined Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee as an Assistant Professor in the department of Physics.
