Emilio Scalise is assistant Professor at the University of Milano Bicocca, Italy. His recent research activities involve polymorphism, phase transition and defects in semiconductors. His research interests include the ab-initio modelling and simulations of surface and interfaces of nanostructures. He received the PhD in semiconductor physics in 2013 from the university of Leuven (Belgium). Then, he spent about four years as a Postdoc at the Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung in Dusseldorf, Germany. In 2017 he joined the Department of Materials Science of the University of Milano Bicocca, Italy, as a Research Fellow.
