
Ratno Nuryadi was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia in 1973. He received the B.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees from Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan, in 1998, 2000, and 2003, respectively. From 2003 to 2006, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher with the Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan, in the research field of Si quantum tunneling devices and their application to photonic devices. From 2006 to 2008, he became an assistant professor at the Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University, Hamamatsu, Japan. In 2008, he became a Researcher with the Center for Materials Technology, Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Indonesia, and since 2016, he has been a Research Professor in this institute. In 2015, he was a Visiting Professor with the Research Institute of Electronics, Shizuoka University for 3 months. He is currently a Research Professor at the Research Center for Photonics, Research Organization for Nanotechnology and Materials, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia. He is also the Chairman of the Research Organization for Nanotechnology and Materials, BRIN. His research interests include micro- or nanostructured physics, chemical-biosensors, and instrumentation.
