
Tetsuya YAMAMOTO obtained a Ph.D. degree in the field of theoretical physics of the condensed matter at OSAKA University in Japan in 1997. He has been a full Professor of graduate school of Kochi University of Technology from 1999 to Present, and also Director, from 2002 to present, of Materials Design Center of Research Institute of Kochi University of Technology. Major research concerns materials design and device developments based on wideband-gap oxide semiconductors, and the development of the state-of-the art film deposition apparatus. He had been the supervisor of many national project. Many products together with patents thorough co-developments with industries have been already commercial. Google scholar: h-index 35, i10-index 170 since 1991. He won the prize by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for his work on ZnO-based TCO films for use in Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)-TV and photovoltaic solar cells in 2011.
