Iosif Grigore DEAC

Professor Faculty of Physics, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Schedule

Prof. Dr. Habil. Iosif G. Deac’s current research interests are focused on various experimental aspects of magnetism in transition metal oxides, colossal magnetoresistance compounds, high-Tc superconductors, multiferroic materials and nano-sized magnetic particles. He is also interested in cryogenics and its applications.

He was a Research Associate at University of Notre Dame, and Pennsylvania State University, USA, in the group of Prof. Peter Schiffer. He also benefited from a study visit at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, in the field of ultra-low temperatures, invited by Prof. Frank Pobell.

He graduated from Babes-Bolyai University, where he attained MSc (1982) and PhD (1999).

He published more than 130 papers in his research field, and he was awarded by Romanian Academy with the prize “Constantin Miculescu” for his papers on the study of physical properties of some metallic compounds of perovskite type and by Babes-Bolyai University for his book on ultra-low temperatures in experimental physics of solid.
