Valeria HARABAGIU

Director, “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Romania

Schedule

Dr. Valeria HARABAGIU obtained her PhD degree in chemistry at “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University, Iasi Romania in 1992. She leaded the Inorganic Polymer Department of “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry and presently holds the position of Director of the same research institution. For periods of time she held research positions at CEMEF, Sophia Antipolis and Universite d’Evry Val d’Essone, France, or at Centre for Carbon and Polymeric Materials, Zabrze, Poland. As a result, joint projects were developed on block copolymers, selective modification of cyclodextrin, reductive coupling applied to the synthesis of polysilanes or on biomaterials. She coordinated 14 Romanian and 7 European projects

Her research interests include silicon-based (co)polymers, conjugated polymers, polymeric (nano)materials for high-tech application, drug delivery systems, supramolecular chemistry; she published one book, more than 230 papers/book chapters, 3 patents and organized several scientific events, including EPNOE International Polysaccharide Conference, French-Romanian Bilateral Symposium, Frontiers in Macromolecular and Supramolecular Science.
